The Conference
The Veterinary Specialists Association (VSA) hosts a full-day continuing professional development conference each year, bringing together registered specialists and human performance experts to deliver clinical training to veterinarians and veterinary nurses from across New Zealand. With two concurrent streams running simultaneously – one tailored to nurses, one to vets – and a full slate of sessions covering a broad range of veterinary fields, the event represents a significant educational investment for attendees and a logistical challenge for capture.
The Brief: Conference Videography with intention
Our brief was to provide conference videography and complete coverage of every single session across both streams, with full audio throughout the day, using a two-person videography crew. Crucially, this wasn’t just about recording the room — VSA needed each presenter’s PowerPoint deck integrated into the final footage. The result had to support a specific post-event need: registered participants who couldn’t attend in person rely on these recordings as their access point to the CPD content, so every session is edited and delivered as its own standalone video.
Future promotional content
Beyond the educational archive, VSA also asked us to produce a punchy 90-second highlight video each year, used to promote the following year’s conference and showcase the energy, scale, and quality of the event to prospective attendees. Since 2023, this has become an annual rhythm – full-day, dual-stream capture, synced presentation content, and a complete set of session-by-session deliverables, followed by a highlight piece that keeps the momentum going into the next event.
