The Brief: Filming Site Safe’s Awards Night at Due Drop Events Centre
Since 2022, we’ve partnered with Site Safe to capture their Evening of Celebration Awards at Due Drop Events Centre — an annual highlight on the New Zealand construction industry’s calendar. Each year, our approach stays the same: one videographer, fully embedded across the 4-hour event, capturing everything from arrivals and dinner through to the award presentations themselves. This single-operator setup keeps the production lean and unobtrusive, letting us move through the room naturally without disrupting the night’s flow.
The real challenge of an awards gala is pace — key moments happen quickly, and there’s no second take on a winner’s reaction or a room bursting into applause. Years of returning to this event have given us a sharp instinct for where to be and when, so we consistently walk away with the footage that matters most: genuine emotion, standout speeches, and the atmosphere of the room itself.
From hours of footage, we distil the night into a single 90sec highlight film — fast-turnaround, social-ready, and built to give people who weren’t there a true sense of the evening’s energy, and for future promotion. It’s a tight brief by design, and one that’s proven itself across four consecutive years of delivery.
