Client Brief
Te Rito Toi’s Background
The University of Auckland‘s Centre for Arts and Social Transformation engaged us to provide corporate photography coverage for the official launch event of new Pasifika Arts lessons within Te Rito Toi, an established online resource supporting schools through crisis recovery. Originally created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the platform had already reached over 250,000 visits and earned international recognition from UNESCO and the OECD, making this expansion a significant moment for the Centre and its research partners.
The Media Launch Event
The media launch event at Sylvia Park School marked the addition of the new Pasifika Arts lessons to the platform, alongside the release of fresh research into the use of Te Rito Toi during the pandemic. The event was officiated by then Associate Minister of Education, Hon Jan Tinetti, with Centre director Professor Peter O’Connor speaking on the role schools play as community recovery hubs during crises.
Coverage for press, reporting & ongoing communications
Our brief was to deliver polished, professional photography capturing the full arc of the official launch event – from the Minister’s address and official proceedings to candid moments of student engagement with the new resources – providing the University with a visual record suitable for press, reporting, and ongoing communications around the Te Rito Toi initiative.
