The Brief: A video & photo refresh for New Windsor School – new, authentic content for web & communication

Following an earlier shoot at one of New Windsor School‘s community working bees, the principal saw an opportunity to do something bigger: a full refresh of the school’s photo and video library. Their existing content was dated, and they needed a current, comprehensive set of assets to support their website, enrolment documentation, and social channels — content that genuinely reflected the school’s culture, diversity, and day-to-day energy.

Our Approach

Over two half-days on site, we worked through a planned shot list covering key areas of the school, with staff and students briefed in advance so everyone knew what to expect. The brief called for footage and images that felt bright, colourful, and true to life — capturing the school’s diversity, amenities, and cultural character rather than generic, staged classroom shots. Alongside the general content capture, we filmed five structured literacy lessons to become standalone learning resource videos, and used a drone to capture the school’s newly constructed bike track from above, paired with ground-level photos and video.

As a team that includes parents, all fully police-vetted, we’re mindful of being approachable, patient, and kind around students and staff throughout a shoot — something that matters as much as the equipment we bring. Having worked with more than 90 schools across Auckland, we understand how to move through a working school day with minimal disruption while still capturing genuine, natural moments.

The Outcome

The final delivery included five edited lesson videos, a full montage celebrating the school as a whole, a dedicated bike track video, and over 180 high-resolution images — giving New Windsor School a complete, versatile asset library to draw from across all their platforms.
