The Edit

Nicola Coom of Cancer Society at Research & Innovation Strategy Launch 2026

Client Brief

The Cancer Society New Zealand approached us to capture the launch of their Research and Innovation Strategy 2026–2031 – a milestone document approved by the Board, with an expanded focus on equity, system change, and high-impact grants. Held at the ANZ Centre in Auckland on Monday 27 July, the launch brought together around 100 researchers, health sector leaders and supporters for a morning of speeches and networking, marking a significant moment in the organisation’s direction following a string of 2026 funding and partnership milestones across the motu.

The brief called for coverage that captured both the atmosphere of the morning and its key moments – from the energy of the room to the substance of what was being announced. On the video side, the Cancer Society wanted a highlight reel built from event footage, speeches, and vox pop interviews with key people in attendance. Longevity was a priority: rather than content built for a single use, the interview footage needed to hold up for future campaigns, meaning subjects and framing were chosen with reuse in mind.

The result is a gallery and video suite that gives the Cancer Society flexible, high-quality assets to support the rollout of their new strategy – content that speaks to funders, researchers and the wider health sector, and that continues to work for them well beyond launch day.

Move Media delivered fast turnaround deliverables of 20 sneak peek images and a 45sec social reel in both 16×9 and 9×16 for sharing formats for posting the following day.  Delivery of the highlight film, vox pops and another 65 images a few days later.
