AUT Events + Venues Myth Busting Content

The Misconception

AUT Events + Catering kept hearing the same feedback: most people had no idea AUT’s venues could be hired out for private and corporate events at all. Of those who did know, many assumed it was only available for AUT‘s own events – or that the catering and service staff were hospitality students rather than experienced professional staff. For a venue and catering operation with genuine scale and capability, these were misconceptions worth tackling head-on.

The Approach

AUT Events + Venues’ Rinus Pope invited us to create a series of short, social-first videos directly busting these myths, while showcasing the range of venues available across AUT’s City, North Shore, and South Auckland campuses. We spent three hours filming at each campus over three days, using a single videographer working with a gimbal, and a drone where the location called for it, to capture walkthrough and interview-style content built for social and YouTube. A photographer worked alongside to build out AUT’s photo library for directory listings, social media, and their website.

The Result

The final delivery included walkthrough and social reel edits for each campus, plus a fresh photo library – content AUT Events & Venues now uses directly in their own social media advertising to put these misconceptions to rest and show prospective clients exactly what’s on offer.
