Sea Life Kelly Tarltons Turtle Release 2022

BRIEF

Even during pandemics and lockdowns, turtles are still being rescued, rehabilitated and released back into the wild.

We were rapt to be invited once again, to capture the turtle release for 2022, and our fifth consecutive year!  After a few postponements, our little team accompanied the SEALIFE Kelly Tarlton’s team, the Department of Conservation, and Auckland Zoo to the epicness of Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve.

The three V.I.T.’s onboard were Taka, an Eastern Pacific marine turtle, Puck, a loggerhead turtle and Delta, a green sea turtle all having had their own rehabilitation issues and journeys, but now ready to join their turtle friends in the ocean.

Capturing the journey North, the engagement with local iwi and community and concluding with their release, turtle comfort and safety are of utmost priority.  So fitting in seamlessly to get the important shots but not get in the way is something we’ve refined over the years and I reckon our videography and photography duo have got it down pat.

If you have a live event milestone moment you’d like captured with video or both photography and videography, then our little crew might be just what you need.  Our inobtrusive, fly on the wall approach can also include extras like interviews or voxpops, graphics or Powerpoint inserts, soundtrack compositions, animations, time-lapsing, droning, etc.

Get in touch and have a chat to see if we’re a good fit for you and your project!

The video and photo assets were used for media release and were distributed to media and posted on social media.
